Pune: Federal Card Services (FCS), a global leader in premium metal and sustainable payment cards, has announced its entry into India with a USD 250 million investment across its three core business segments – technology, real estate, and services.

The company’s first Federal Card Services manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, will produce 100% metal and biodegradable payment cards, aligning with India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and green growth vision.

The new Pune plant represents a significant boost to India’s growing fintech manufacturing ecosystem. The 32,000 sq. ft. facility will generate over 1,000 direct jobs and strengthen India’s fintech supply chain.

The location was strategically selected for its proximity to Mumbai, skilled workforce availability, and access to major international markets across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Phase 1 construction of the plant has been completed, with operations expected to begin in February 2026 after equipment calibration and workforce training.

Initially, the facility will produce 2 million cards per year, with plans to scale up to 26.7 million annually.

FCS Expands Global Partnerships and Strengthens India Operations

Federal Card Services already partners with major industry players such as Axis Bank, VISA, Mastercard, and FPL Technologies (OneCard). Its entry into India reflects a long-term strategic plan to make the country a global hub for sustainable payment technology manufacturing.

The Federal Card Services Pune facility will produce next-generation biodegradable payment cards developed from renewable materials such as certified wood, coffee fiber, and other plant-based composites.

These alternatives to PVC and polycarbonate cards are designed for durability while reducing environmental impact.

Eurnekian added, “The shift toward sustainable materials is a shared global responsibility. FCS is proud to contribute by offering innovative biodegradable alternatives to traditional plastics and supporting a responsible future for the payments industry.”
